REALTOR® Safety

Like many other jobs that require interaction with the public, selling real estate involves some risk. In conjuction with The National Association of REALTORS®, The Maine Association of REALTORS® is committed to protecting its members and maintaining their personal safety. Educating REALTORS® about potential threats and providing them with resources to protect themselves will help REALTORS® stay safe.

REALTOR® Safety Tips

  • Always make sure someone knows where you’re going and who you plan to meet there-including the client’s name and phone numbers.
  • Always schedule first meetings with new clients in the office, verify their identity, and introduce them to a colleague.
  • Always keep a charged cell phone with you, whether you’re in the office, on the road or at property showing.
