Sen. Cushing appointed to Maine’s Economic Growth Council
AUGUSTA, Maine – State Sen. Andre Cushing, R-Penboscot, has been appointed to Maine’s Economic Growth Council, a non-partisan panel that was created to establish a long-range economic plan for the state and to measure progress in achieving the plan’s benchmarks and goals.
The Council, which was created by the Maine Legislature in 1993, is made up of 19 members who serve three-year terms. They include representatives of business, education, labor, and environmental interests. Sen. Cushing is one of four state legislators who will serve on the Council.
